The NEET UG 2025 took place on May 4, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm at 5,453 centers in 548 cities in India and 14 foreign cities. The exam was held in the pen and paper mode and over 20.8 lakh candidates had appeared for the same.
This year the question paper had been circulated in four sets – Code 45, 46, 47, and 48— in numerical codes rather than the regular abcdef format. The question paper consisted of 180 questions based on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) which was of 720 marks.

Reports From The Ground: Exam Centres In Hyderabad
The exam was incident-free in Hyderabad, except for a couple of latecomers, who were not allowed to write the exam. Security measures such as the screening of metal detectors were put in place, and separate compartments were organized for female candidates, who were searched by women personnel.
At some centers, officials including District Collector Anudeep Durishetty (Masab Tank) and Collector Gowtham Potru (Kukatpally) visited to monitor arrangements and examine the installation of CCTV cameras.
Student Response and Analyzing the Exam
According to the student feedback, Physics was the toughest section followed by moderate-level Chemistry. NCERT biology & an easier one too.
The Physics was very tough, a candidate Riya said, adding that the portion of Physics was frustrating. It was a long paper. I hope I will score above 600 but I may not get admission in a government college.”
Jahnvi, who was making her third attempt said, “Physics was tough again. I think that cutoff is going to be fine this year.”

Biology: Easiest
Chemistry: Moderate
The paper was considered lengthy while moderation levels were balanced.
Heavy Checks and Balances

NTA had established a master control room with the help of various government agencies.
Dry runs were conducted on May 3 to take stock of preparedness at centers.
Precautionary measures involved signal jammers, biometric checks,,s and multi-level frisking.
Facilities including drinking water, electricity, portable toilets, and ambulance services were set up, as per the summer timetable.
A Suspicious Claims Reporting Portal identified more than 2,300 fake leak claims, and action was taken against misleading Telegram and Instagram channels.
