Microsoft makes public happy news for all users, admins, and home people that the latest OneDrive features across Microsoft 365 comes with Dark Mode, 15GB to 100GB file upload limit, and other benefits.

In fact, everything is online, accelerating our digital transformation, both professionally and personally. Not only do you need the right apps to stay productive while working remotely, but you also need the right apps to connect with family and friends.

Files are often the starting point for completing work and linking. Notes, presentations, photos, videos, and more are the paths to more effective interactions.

Therefore, Microsoft is announcing the new OneDrive feature of Microsoft 365, providing business users with a more connected and comfortable file experience, better control of admins, and a more personal touch for everyone at home.

OneDrive Feature Updates

By the end of this month, Microsoft is releasing a new feature for business customers, add to OneDrive, which makes it easy to add shared folders directly to OneDrive

shared folder contains content shared by others on OneDrive or that is part of a shared library in SharePoint or Microsoft Teams.

With OneDrive, you can keep your shared content in one place and work with the same power and flexibility as files with shared content. This means that the attached content can be synced, shared, and supported by and includes all existing security and compliance policies.

The public preview implementation is enabled by default on your tenant and can be disabled by the administrator if desired.

Adding to OneDrive is just one of many features that enhance file connectivity, comfort, security, and personality.

More connected

Team Sharing Integration: No matter which app you’re using, you can feel Microsoft 365 as same. This is especially true for teams that are central to remote work.

To expand this familiarity with your files, it will soon release the same sharing and access control experience as business users you already know from other Microsoft 365 applications, including OneDrive, Outlook, and Office.

Soon, when you share a file from a group, you can create a shared link that anyone in your organization, who you already have access to, private or group users can access.

Synchronized metadata support:

Metadata adds structure and consent to files. Library currently shared with reading sync required metadata.

In the coming weeks, Microsoft is going to announce that they are developing an update for the OneDrive Sync app that will support read-write synchronization of shared libraries that contain the required metadata.

This allows business users to edit the contents of the sync library when working from the desktop.

Likewise, Move and Share Files are moved in the same way as workflows. Documents need to go through a lifecycle from creation to review and go to a shared cloud library to outreach a larger group of collaborators.

But he must do so without affecting the accessibility of the original group. By the end of summer, business users can do exactly what they need with OneDrive by choosing to share it with collaborators when moving files.

That is, if you change the location of the shared library in the file, all business users who have valid access to the file will be added back to the file.

These users will receive a new link that preserves their existing permissions and will be notified of this action.

Much Easier

Our expected 100 GB file update date So far, Microsoft has increased the upload file size limit from 15 GB to 100 GB on OneDrive and SharePoint.

This is especially useful for business users who work with large files such as 3D, CAD, and multimedia files.

Previously released delta sync helps speed up the upload process for large files by synchronizing only the changed parts of the entire file.

Comment Notifications

As notifications help you more, but they can be distracting. To help keep you productive when you need to focus, Microsoft will add the option to turn off personal file comment notifications later this year.

This affects only that file, not the entire file library.

Shared address bar

When you access or work with files in your browser, you can share the links you’ve copied from your browser’s address bar with colleagues inside (if management is enabled).

These URLs respect all partnerships and enable intuitive and simple collaboration within your organization.

Better control

Management Report Synchronization: Effective reporting leads to effective checking and control. Managers can better assist their customers when they know what is happening in their environment.

Sync management reports can provide visibility and insight into the adoption and integrity of the OneDrive Sync app within your organization.

Use this new dashboard to see the sync app version, sync status, and major sync errors for individual devices. You can also monitor the progress of the Move Notes folder deployment.

This is recommended to allow users to redirect known folders (Desktop, Documents, Pictures) to OneDrive in Windows. Help desk resources rely on these reports to help customers sync.

Further, Sync management reports will be available later this year.

Microsoft recently announced the general availability of several features that enhance file protection and governance for OneDrive and SharePoint

Improved File Protection and Monitoring

This includes Microsoft information protection sensitivity labels, automatic classification by sensitivity labels, sensitivity labels, and information barriers for SharePoint sites.

In addition, administrators can implement multi-factor authentication procedures such as automatic expiration of external access, one-time passcode request (OTP), and extend continuous access assessment to OneDrive and SharePoint.

Simplified management experience

Microsoft is extending the OneDrive toolkit to simplify your management experience, including new options for easily moving content to OneDrive.

There are also many improvements to the horizon. By the end of the year, all OneDrive management features including sharing, access, sync, and archive control will be available in the SharePoint admin center and the management tools will be integrated into one location only.

Unlock numerous reporting extensions, WCG 2.1 accessibility support, global reader support, error messaging, and performance.

This summer, Microsoft is releasing a new option to set a mandatory expiration date for external collaborators. It can be extended or disabled at the user’s discretion.

More personal

Your work and personal life are intertwined as this ultra-paid digital transformation approaches.

Not only do you store work documents online these days, but also you share family photos, plans, planning documents, roommate expense spreadsheets, and more.

And, just as you expect seamless sharing and cooperation in your work, our personal lives need it more than ever.

Family and Group Partnerships Later this month, Microsoft is making it easy to connect to family and group partnerships with OneDrive.

With this new user feature available on OneDrive for the web, you can predefine groups of your personal life and easily share files, photos, videos, and albums with them.

The group may include family members, friends, kids’ sports leagues, sports leagues, old college friends, new friends on match nights, and more.

To share files with a group, select the files or folders you want to share on OneDrive, click Share, and enter the group name.

All team members must have a Microsoft account, and everyone must accept and access the group invitation.

Family and group sharing is included in all OneDrive free and paid user plans, and will be generally available by the end of July and soon available on OneDrive for Web.

It will be available in mobile apps, sync clients, Mac, and by the end of the year directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Web Dark Mode to OneDrive

After the release of iOS for iOS and Android, Microsoft will soon introduce Web Dark Mode to OneDrive for commercial and personal accounts.

In addition to its aesthetic appearance, Dark Mode reduces eye strain and improves device battery life

For Great participation with friends and family, New OneDrive features like the OneDrive service and activity feeds give you a single view of your file features and comments so you can quickly get back to your workflow You, your friends, your family are working together.

Eventually, OneDrive files are protected by comprehensive security features such as file encryption, personal storage, virus scanning, suspicious activity monitoring, ransomware protection, and many other features.

Additionally, you get the privacy you earn. Microsoft does not scan the content of files or photos for targeted advertising.

The user’s privacy policy is transparent and you can control your data in one unit with easy-to-use settings and clear options in the privacy dashboard.
